WELCOME from Charlotte Adams!
I have spent my life playing and teaching guitar, creating workshops, and writing instructional books. Although this work is consistently inspiring and nourishing, I recently found myself wanting to do more. As a self-taught guitarist, I felt drawn to helping others who choose the same path.
Considering this, I had to admit that my students had an enormous advantage over most people learning guitar. And I knew that what I was giving my students to create that advantage wasn’t available in any guitar book. With this in mind, I began writing You & Your Guitar—the book filled with advantages.
In You & Your Guitar I share with you the learning wisdom that my students receive. But the wisdom in the book doesn’t stand alone. Like playing guitar, it has a life of its own, growing and expanding daily. I realized early in the stages of writing that the DAILY was an integral part of You & Your Guitar. Then this website came about, and soon a community emerged. More tutorials were born, with more on the way.
All of these resources enable you to achieve your unique and ever-expanding goals with your guitar. And whether you’re bored, stuck, or frustrated, or you feel like you’re lacking time, motivation, or talent, there are solutions. Watch the video above, explore the site and enjoy the free lessons and articles. Then choose your path and say goodbye to your limitations!
Guitarist, violinist, vocalist, teacher and recording and performing artist Ian Lee talks about his experience of studying with Charlotte Adams.
What People Say
As a Berklee-trained guitarist, I have been exposed to many method books and teachers, some of them very good, but no other volume or guide so completely combines a singularly authoritative and compassionate teaching style with the essential musical and technical concepts one needs to develop as a guitar player and whole musician.
David T Siegfried
Her books are nothing different than her teaching approach, in the sense that she goes straight to the essential. Each word is chosen carefully to keep complex concepts simple and easy to read, which makes the book small yet so rich!! I ended up highlighting every single passage.
Emilie Nadeau Selden
Charlotte teaches you how to LEARN guitar. She knows a lot about music and playing guitar, but the beautiful thing is that she is attentive to what you require, and she teaches you how to be attentive to that too. That is so valuable. Every time I pick up the guitar to play, I am making use of something she taught me, and it continues to grow.
Steve Alexander
While I began working with her to improve my guitar skills, she has really been a comprehensive mentor, helping me to become a more rounded musician in general. She helped me to rediscover the love of learning, and gave me a roadmap for mastery that delivered real results.
