In this lesson we will revisit the C scale that you learned in Lesson #8. If you haven’t worked with it yet, learn and practice it before you continue with this lesson.

In the following piece, you will play the C scale, but you will stop and start on different notes and change direction at various times in order to create a melody. The notes in the melody that would normally be longer than quarter notes will still be written and played as quarter notes, but you will play chords to fill in the extra time.

You will only use two simple chords in this song (C and G7) and they are labeled for you. The note names are written under the notes and tablature is included to make it easy to decipher the music.
