Moving On is included as the primary text at this level. By working with the songs in the book, you will learn barre chords, new accompaniment patterns, a shuffle rhythm and a classic blues riff. You’ll also learn to read standard notation in the first position through playing a variety of cool solo guitar arrangements.
A Guitar Player’s Guide to Ear Training will enable you to develop the crucial aural skills that every guitarist needs.
A Guitar Player’s Guide to Music Theory gives you everything you need to know and nothing more. Every chapter of the theory book begins with “Why you need to know…” and “How to make it easy.” Both the theory and ear training books contain worksheets for you to copy and do repeatedly. The more deeply you ingrain the concepts, the more they will serve you in your playing!
